The Louisiana Cancer Research Center (LCRC) has hired Natalie Black to head up special projects and events as the LCRC expands its faculty and statewide efforts to reduce cancer rates in Louisiana.

“Natalie will figure prominently in our plans to facilitate collaborations through research and community outreach events throughout the state," said Joe W. Ramos, PhD, Louisiana Cancer Research Center director and chief executive officer. “We already have research webinars and other outreach programs scheduled and the LCRC will benefit from Natalie’s background coordinating medical conferences and events at the University of Alabama at Birmingham,  an NCI-Designated Cancer Center.”

Natalie was most recently at Biocryst Pharmaceuticals, where was anexecutive administrative assistant and supported the chief research anddevelopment officer for the Birmingham company.  She holds an M.A.and B.A.  in communication management from UAB.
