My laboratory aims to understand the downstream effects of age-and cancer-associated skeletal muscle impairments on health outcomes. I amparticularly interested in age-related syndromes, such as sarcopenia andfrailty, and their prognostic value for adverse outcomes in older adults, particularly after a cancer diagnosis and during treatment. My research alsoaims to identify feasible and effective multimodal (e.g., exercise and diet)strategies to mitigate or reverse the loss of muscle mass and function in olderadults with or without cancer. Additional research interests in my laboratoryinclude prehabilitation prior to cancer surgery and lifestyle interventions(e.g., exercise and diet) to improve clinical outcomes during and after cancertreatment.
