Dr. Eboni Price-Haywood, MD, MPH, FACP is a GeneralInternal Medicine specialist, Medical Director for Ochsner Health’s HealthyState initiative and the Ochsner Xavier Institute for Health Equity andResearch (OXIHER) and member of the Board of Governors for thePatient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She is the founding director of Ochsner’s PatientResearch Advisory Board and the Primary Care Research Network. She is also the former director of Ochsner Health’s Center for Outcomes Research.
DrPrice-Haywood is an NIH-funded researcher with experience and expertisein epidemiology, health services research and implementation science;strategies to improve health equity; and health services delivery redesign. Over the last 20 years, her research andhealthcare administrative work has focused on strategies to improve healthequity for socially disadvantaged populations and translating research intopractice. Her research portfolio includes: (1) Strategies to improvehealth care quality for vulnerable populations; (2) Health service deliveryredesign via optimization of health information technology and care teams; (3)Conduct of pragmatic clinical trials and implementation science research; and(4) Use of electronic medical record data for observational, epidemiologic studies,and health services research.
In her combined leadership rolesas System Medical Director for Healthy State and OXIHER, Dr.Price-Haywood is leading collaborative initiatives across the state ofLouisiana to improve overall community health by addressing the socialdeterminants of health and designing strategies to improve health equity.Through OXIHER, Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana(XULA) are leveraging resources within each institution to launch collaborativeinitiatives employing outcomes research, population health, workforcedevelopment and health equity education initiatives, community engagement andhealth advocacy to investigate and create solutions for the challenges we facetoday.
Dr. Price-Haywood is a Professor ofMedicine in the University of Queensland Ochsner Clinical School and teachingfaculty for the Ochsner Internal Medicine Residency Program. She received her Medical Degree from Johns HopkinsUniversity School of Medicine and Masters of Public Health from Johns HopkinsBloomberg School of Public Health.
