Thomas Connor Bishop is a computational molecular biologist. His primary research interests are the structure and dynamics of DNA and chromatin and how they relate to genetic function and dysfunction. Historically he has utilized the hormone response mechanism as a model system for his studies. Recent efforts focus on development of methods for unifying sequence, structure and functional data from experiment, theory and computation to investigate genome organization on multiple time and length scales. He is applying these methods to the study of chromatinized extrachromosomal circular DNA.
