My research focuses on exploring fundamental biological questions related to disease mechanisms with a focus on regulation of energy metabolism. Our research employs in vitro molecular, biochemistry, cell biology, in vivo molecular genetics, and pathophysiology to investigate the molecular and biochemical mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of metabolic disorders and to identify innovative therapies. We have extensive expertise in developing animal models with genetic manipulations and gene therapies. We use in-depth analyses with cutting-edge tools in molecular genetics, pathophysiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology. Our research has made important contributions to the understanding of critical metabolic regulations in diseased tissues. While our main research interests are centered on the molecular mechanisms of heart failure, we have also involved in broad spectrum research including diabetes and cancer-related cardiac disorders.
