Professor

I am a surgical oncologist specializing in complex cases involving rare cancers, including primary and metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. Incorporated into the research component of our program is the improvement of diagnosis and treatment as well as providing a clinical trial portfolio targeting rare cancer patients. To achieve these goals the program performs both independent investigator initiated studies and collaborative projects with industry and external research groups. This approach maximizes the efficiency of resources, fosters productive collaborations, increases peer review publications and amplifies general cognizable information pertaining to primary and metastatic cancer. I am currently the director of the Rare Cancer Program and New Orleans Neuroendocrine Tumor Specialists (NOLANETS). With respect to research projects, I provide clinical expertise during all stages of the projects, help analyze and interpret data, and provide additional information, when necessary, to put into clinical perspective. Furthermore, I am principal investigator on several clinical trials, leading the research team in translating research into practice.
