Wilms tumor (WT) is an embryo tumor and believed to arise from immature kidney cells, nephron progenitor cells (NPCs), which have failed to differentiate properly.  Genome-wide studies showed the close link between NPCs of the developing human kidney and WT oncogenesis. We are studying the novel molecular mechanisms of epigenetic modulators in the tumorigenesis of WT, and will provide new approaches for the treatment of WT.
