Description of lab/research: The Drosophila model For Cancer Research

We use the Drosophila intestine model to investigate how intestinal stem cells are regenerated in response to physiological challenges, and our studies found that infection of pathogenic bacteria can drive the committed cells (eneteroblasts) to generate stem cells through EGFR-Ras signaling. In addition, we use the Drosophila follicle epithelium model to study how the invasive directions of polarity-deficient cells are regulated.
