Her friends and family call her Angel and for good reason. Agnes Judge, aka “Angel,” is on a personal mission to visit all 50 states to raise awareness about breast cancer and lift the spirits of women fighting the disease.

As of April 1, 2024, Angel had visited 19 states, including cancer research centers like MD Anderson in Houston and The Avera Cancer Institute in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Louisiana Cancer Research Center was fortunate to welcome Angel, who also presented a donation in support of cancer research to Joe W. Ramos, PhD, Director/CEO of the Louisiana Cancer Research Center and Director, LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center.

Angel was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and underwent a double mastectomy. “God has summoned me to speak with anyone who is having a difficult time with their cancer diagnosis and I have been on a pilgrimage ever since. I am here to inspire and encourage ladies that are battling breast cancer. I want to also empower them, letting them know to fight for your life,” she advises. “It’s yours!”

Angel toured the research labs and met with staff before presenting a personal donation to the LCRC.

“The LCRC is honored to welcome Angel and to thank her for choosing us to be the Louisiana representatives in her cross-country mission to inspire women with breast cancer,” Dr. Ramos said.  “The funds she has donated will support the foundational research that targets cancer here in Louisiana.”

Angel hopes to wrap up her tour in 2025.
